This will be a short one as I have been busy all morning already and it's almost time to head out for the weekly estate and garage sales.

Going to those every week -- and to thrift stores nearly every day -- is super fun, so it's taken me a while to see that it is also work. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are my busiest days of the week especially in the summer (aka garage sale season). So I need to shake a leg soon.

But first I had to do some re-arranging in my office. My husband installed these wonderful automatic plugs for most of the lamps in the house. Many are set to timers based on our morning and evening routines but best of all we can also turn them on and off via Echo. Sometimes my husband and I get into arguments about his poor naming choices of a lamp, ("Why are their names so SIMILAR??") but mostly we love the ease. I swapped out the lights on my desk for a pretty porcelain butterfly lamp and a MCM wooden floor lamp, but now they are tricky to reach to turn on and off. Also, they are the only two in the house that require manual work, and I am lazy now. So I had to buy a bigger surge protector to fit the plugs, spend some time on my hands and knees untangling cords, and then install them and set them up in the app. I will never switch on a lamp again! LOL!

Also did the routine chores of the morning: made the bed, started a load of laundry, washed the dishes including the dog bowls, had a yummy breakfast of Noosa yogurt with blackberries and peaches.

Ok, enough chit-chat. Time to go wait in line to buy dead people's things!

I hate my smart lights because they seem to lose connections 5% of the time.

How often do you visit each thrift shop? IOW what kind of turnover rate do they have where you might expect to see new things? Are they all very different or do they turn over at similar rates? I've always been curious about that -- I go to them so infrequently these days. (Mostly because there are no longer any good ones near me.)
