 Christmas was harder and sadder than I was expecting. I watched a string of old Christmas movies, and Pluribus, and in the middle of one of them -- maybe Home Alone? -- just completely broke down in hard, racking sobs. Fucking grief always manages to kick me in new ways.

But my husband bought a pile of thoughtful gifts, and filled my stocking with scratchies, and made us kielbasa and kapusta and yummy little pierogis. My only task was to wash the dishes afterward. I needed the break. 

And now it's over and I am off to work today. Work will consume most of my free time and thinking time for the next week, as I work a bunch of extra shifts to cover for an injured co-worker, and have to take down my Christmas booth in between all of that. This will be good for me, I need my mind on something else than my sadness.

Speaking of work, it's time to go get ready. Enjoy the time off, regular worker bees!

That sounds like a hard day, albeit with sunshine spots like a kind husband and delicious food. I hope as this year plods into next, your steps get lighter.

What did you think of Pluribus? I love Vince Gilligan for obvious reasons but there was no way I was ever going to watch Breaking Bad. I get the sense that Pluribus is quite different, so I'm curious, but also cautious. He can pack a punch, can our man Vince.

I really liked Pluribus, it's not like Breaking Bad at all. It's more of an apocalyptic type show. I see more XF/otherworldliness than Breaking Bad/drug dealers in it. There's no violence, for one, at least not murders or attacks. That's what I was afraid of, so tbh I Googled the recap of the first episode halfway through. I hate that kind of tense fear, of monsters or murderers leaping out of the darkness with weapons. Once I knew what was happening, I could finish the ep.

I won't spoil more of it for you, but it's very good with lots of thought put into the world and the events of the story. Lots of incredible visuals too. And great acting.
